Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, illustrated by Sir John Tenniel, published by the Franklin Library, 1975. Condition is very good. Please see photos for full details.

Condition notes: one page has more staining than others, and there are slight spots on the page edges. All illustrations are in great condition with no rips or tears throughout.

The Franklin Library, the publishing arm of the Franklin Mint, began publishing in 1973 and was known for its beautifully leather bound collectors editions and interior illustrations. Much like the Easton Press, the Franklin Library published series of books including the 100 Greatest Books of All Time, and today all books produced by the Franklin Library are considered out of print and valuable collectibles. This 1975 edition, published just two years after the Franklin Library’s founding, is among its earliest productions and part of its most collectible period.

Sir John Tenniel’s iconic illustrations need little introduction, as his ninety-two drawings for the Alice books remain among the most celebrated literary illustrations ever produced. Having them presented in a fine Franklin Library binding makes this a particularly attractive edition for collectors.

A wonderful addition for collectors of fine leather bound books, Franklin Library editions, Lewis Carroll, or classic illustrated fiction.
