A wonderful entry point for a collector who wants a fine Easton Press edition of a literary classic at a more accessible price point.

Alexandre Dumas was one of the most famous and prolific French writers of the nineteenth century, producing some 250 books, and is best known for his historical novels The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. The real life inspiration for the novel was Dumas’ own father, General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, the son of a French nobleman and an enslaved Caribbean woman, who rose to become Napoleon’s top cavalry commander before being imprisoned and disgraced, a story so extraordinary it won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Biography when finally told in full. The Count of Monte Cristo tells the story of a man imprisoned unjustly who escapes, discovers a great hidden treasure, and plots the destruction of those responsible for his downfall, and has never been out of print since its first publication in 1844.

The Easton Press fine leather binding makes this a beautiful shelf piece and a wonderful addition for collectors of classic French literature, adventure fiction, or Easton Press editions on a budget.
