Bram Stoker is best remembered as the author of Dracula, one of the most influential horror novels ever written. First published in 1911, The Lair of the White Worm was among his final novels and draws on ancient folklore, mythology, and supernatural horror. Set in the English countryside, the story follows Adam Salton as he becomes entangled in a strange mystery involving a sinister ancestral estate, a mysterious woman, and a monstrous creature said to inhabit the land. Blending Gothic atmosphere, ancient legends, and the unsettling imagination that defined Stoker's work, the novel offers a fascinating look at the author's later writing.
This Easton Press edition features illustrations by Pamela Colman Smith, the artist best known for her iconic artwork for the Rider-Waite tarot deck. Her involvement gives this edition particular appeal to collectors of both illustrated literature and her distinctive artistic work. The leather-bound Easton Press presentation makes it an attractive collectible edition of Stoker's unusual supernatural tale.
A wonderful addition for collectors of Easton Press editions, classic horror, Gothic literature, Bram Stoker, or illustrated works featuring the art of Pamela Colman Smith.
